The Girl on the Train - movie review

I do tend to choose movies by the actors in them and The Girl on the Train was no exception. I love Emily Blunt. When I see any actor in a movie and then see them interviewed, they need to not be the same person. Do you know what I mean? If they are, they're probably not very good actors or they always choose roles that allow them to be themselves. Boring! Blunt likes a challenge. This character is not her at all :)

I am learning to appreciate thrillers and dramas, dissecting the way it's put together, and trying to figure out what may have been in the creator's mind. This movie is based on a best-selling novel by Paula Hawkins.

The main character, Rachel, was intriguing from the start. She elicited sympathy and I wanted her to heal, to move on. But I was on the edge of my seat! I did catch the subtle clues (encounter behind the tree, the name on the cell phone, etc.) so I was satisfied when I had figured out the correct killer because they were so subtle, I could have been wrong ;) It did not diminish my enjoyment because it was like a crossword puzzle - not easily deciphered.

This movie came out in 2016, categorized as Drama.
